Another Random Friday

TGIF!

We have made it to Friday :)

It has been a good week. I wish every Monday started as good as this one did!

I love getting these pictures during the day! I was thinking this morning that I am going to be so sad when everyone goes back to work from maternity leave because I will not have anyone to text with! ha!

Now that I have caught up on Army Wives and The Walking Dead is over until October, I have found yet another show to (interfere with everything) occupy my time.

Mad Men! This one is good .. very dark at times and very complex characters, but I am loving the time period and styles of all the girls. Jason refuses to get sucked into another series, so I have been enjoying this one on my own.

Ready to spend some time with friends and family (and new babies!) this weekend!

Happy almost Weekend!

This Is How We Roll

Every night we have alittle ritual. We get ready for bed and watch TV or read in the den until time for bed. Sometimes, I get the couch. Most of the time, I lose out to these two.

Gracie loves it.

Happy Birthday Jude!

My sister-in-law Anna had her sweet baby boy this morning!

We found out last week that she was going in for her c section this morning, so Jason and I both were able to take off work to be there and welcome our (1st!!) sweet nephew into this world!

Jude was born at 10:26 AM and was 8lbs even, 21 inches long.

He looks like his daddy!

Mama was so happy to get this sweet boy here! He has been camping out for awhile, and she was more than ready!

Very proud Uncle Jason!

... and Aunt Emily :)

And, this sweet precious is already 1 month old!!! Can not believe how quickly time has flown by!

Bugging Out

Just a few minor hazards from enjoying last week/weekend outside as much as possible . . .

I had some more on my other foot, but I scratched them until they bled, then I scratched them some more until some fluid came out, then I scratched them alittle more, then I left them alone because they finally stopped itching!!! The worst is laying in bed at night and the sheets lightly brushing against them. OH MY GOODNESS, I have been known to get up in the night and just rub my feet as hard as I possibly can against the carpet. Doesn't help, but for that brief moment it satisfies the terrible itch.

Switching gears . . . Jason and I have been watching certain TV shows about survival, as I have mentioned on here before. Never have I ever thought about actually putting a plan together. I have laughed at people who do, called them silly, not understood why in the world they would go to all the trouble to prepare for disaster?!

However, I have been rethinking it lately. I think that some people go to the extreme, yes. But I also think that it is a good idea to have a game plan should something terrible happen. I am not talking about the end of the world, but I am thinking more along the lines of economic downfall, bad weather, etc. I heard last night that it is suggested you keep at least 3 days worth of food in your house at all times. We have no where close to that. Sure, I have random cans of corn laying around, but I want to get alittle more organized about the whole thing. I told Jason I was going to start picking up a few extra things at the grocery store to have on hand. I don't think that is too bizarre?? He kind of looked at me funny :) Also, this weekend I am going to learn to shoot a gun. I have shot before, but never with targets and never with a specific purpose. I need to learn to protect myself anyway, so hopefully this doesn't sound terribly crazy. There are what the "experts" call bug out bags that you can also have on standby filled with enough supplies to last you 72 hours should you have to pack and run. No, I am not going here . . . yet. ! Here is our first little extra pick up:

Not a big deal now, but it is a start!

I was walking in our yard on Sunday afternoon looking for 4 leaf clovers. Never could find one! I went to church and one of my sweet awana babies had found 5! I was determined to find at least 1! Went back home and looked again and found one. Went looking today at lunch when I let Gracie out and found another!

Good Weekend

We didn't have any plans this weekend, and it was one of the best! Friday was really busy, so Saturday I did a whole lot of nothing until Jason got home. Then, we had alittle fun!

I didn't catch a thing. Not even a nibble. I brought a book along, so I wasn't too bored. It was just so nice being outside!

I found a new app this weekend on my iPhone that I had read about on another blog. It's called Red Stamp and it is free! You can send all kind of neat personalization's out to people in your contact list. I am sure it does alot more, but I have enough fun sending stuff to Jason. He got this while he was playing golf yesterday . .

Ha!

10 Things on Friday

This might be the most random post to date!

1. Somehow my Internet explorer is all screwed up this morning on my work computer. It looks as if it decided to give itself a little makeover. It looks very weird to me and something tells me it is not supposed to be like this, but I am letting it go for today. Maybe it will be back to its old self on Monday?

2. We had the best pre-summertime - but felt like summertime - thunderstorm late yesterday. The kind where the sun it still shining and the temperature is warm and it is pouring. I loved it.

3. I am starting a project this weekend- painting our outside rocking chairs. I am excited and overwhelmed at the same time. I like to think I am a "project" person but the fact is I get overwhelmed by details easily. So, undertaking this is 2 fold for me- the chairs really need painting and I need to train myself to actually finish something and not get so easily anxious.

4. I saw an article this morning about people finding a snake in their toilet.

I would die right then and there I think.

5. I often have dreams about snakes .... when I do it is the same dream. I am stuck outside in a car or tree house and the ground is covered with snakes. I can't get to the house for safety. I have to just start running. All I hear is hissing. Enough about this, I am freaking just thinking about it.

6. My sister in law Anna is full term with her sweet baby boy. As of 2 weeks ago, he weighed 8lbs/10 oz. She went to get checked this week and had not dilated at all. She is miserable and thinks she will be pregnant forever. She has had some trouble with her heart rate getting to high, so she tries to take it easy when she can. She was still working this week- did I mention she is an ER nurse? Girlfriend is a trooper! Maybe I am just a wimp?! :) I think it is a combo of both!

7. Jason and I have been watching The Walking Dead. At first I was sooooooo skeptical. I have never been into zombies or anything of the sort. BUT, as it turns out, it is about so much more!! We have been on a marathon trying to catch up to current episodes. SO GOOD!

8. I have realized in watching this, and some other shows on survival, that more than likely in a catastrophic event that would require living off nature, building your own shelter, etc. . I would probably not make it.

9. I wish I was still in school and got to have a spring break.

10. This post got way out there - Happy Weekend!!!!!!!

Perfect Lunch

Since the thermostat was reading this yesterday when I headed to lunch . . .

there was only one way I knew to spend my lunch hour!

Bliss!! :)

I did, of course, have some company . .

After lunch I ran by my mama and daddy's to check on their dog. She had not been feeling great and daddy wasn't going to be able to get by to check on her. She was enjoying the sunshine too! She's hard to spot, but look close :)

And what sunshiny day is complete without a vanilla cherry Dr. Pepper?

Beautiful Afternoons

We are in the midst of some gorgeous weather! Today and tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 80's! When I got home from work yesterday afternoon, Gracie and I enjoyed the back deck for alittle while!

This makes me happy! Summer is on its way!!

Family Pictures

This weekend has been on the calender for 2 months now. I got the bright idea back in January that Jason and I should have some family photos taken along with Gracie (mistake #1). We had not had professional pictures made since our wedding. We are so bad about having pictures made of ourselves together in general, so I thought this would be a great idea. I started collecting my outfits almost immediately and lucked up with Jason in that most of what was already in his closet went with my selections. Friday night, I started pulling everything out and getting all of our things together. I don't know why, but this has stressed me out to no end. My friend has laughed at me non stop because she can't understand my anxiety. I don't either most of the time :)

I was leaving the house on Saturday afternoon to get to my mama's on time (where we were taking the pictures) and actually got there with time to spare. I was so careful loading everything up and making sure everything was ready that I thought I had well, everything. I get to mom's and start laying everything out when I realize that Jason's sweater that perfectly matches my skirt is laying on our guest bedroom bed back at my house. With really no time to spare, I rushed back home to get it. Him not it wasn't an option. I was alittle late, but not bad.

I knew Gracie was going to be a wild card. Her personality is just so . . unique. She doesn't play well with others and thinks she is the center of her own universe. Situations like this stress her out as well. I was just hoping for a couple of good shots. From the second we got to mama's she was a total lunatic. I don't know how we managed, but I think we got 1 or 2 good shots. I hope. I had researched online and found all these great dog poses for her . . well, she was having NONE of it. She actually wore herself completely out.

Anxiety must run in the family ;)

We have only been able to see 2 pictures because she it still editing and we love them. I can't post them yet, but will as soon as I get our CD.

Here is Gracie Saturday night . . post trama filled afternoon.

Happy Monday!

A Baby, Birthday and Baseball

We have had a busy few weeks!

My sweet friend Lindsey had her baby, Josie Kate, on February 23! Oh, she is just so so precious! Jason and I love her to pieces. I was able to make it to the hospital prior to her having Josie to wish her well and also to see what all this labor stuff is all about. She made it look like a walk in the park! We went for a visit after they got home . .

I didn't want Jason to get all up in her face with the camera because she was trying to sleep . . something we are joyful and thankful for I am learning! We will have lots more pictures I am sure.

My birthday was one week later on March 1. My husband surprised me and sent these beautiful flowers to work.

A couple of weeks ago, Jason got an invitation to be recognized at his alma mater, Limestone College, as one of the Top 25 Baseball Players ever to play there. Some of our dear friends also got recognized, so we were so excited to be able to spend time with them!

Reunion with the boys!
