Catch Up Post . .

I tried to sit down and do this post allllll day yesterday, and it just was not happening. I actually have pictures from the weekend, which is so unusual!

Friday began with my hubby heading out of town on a weekend golf excursion at the beach. Gracie and I had this place to ourselves all weekend, for the first time ever. To say that we were nervous is an understatement. haha. This is how we spent most of Friday night -

Sad and pouting.

Luckily, Saturday was much better. My mom and I went rug shopping for my living room. (early birthday present!) A few weeks back Jason and I got a new couch and chair after the recliner broke. Really, all we needed was a new chair, but I talked him into the couch too. The pillows I had made were animal print- zebra in particular. Honestly, that is really out of character for me. But, I was really happy at the way they turned out. I knew it would be a challenge to find the perfect rug, but I lucked up!

I am really pleased with the way it looks. Again, nothing I would have set out to decorate my living room with, but it all just kind of came together and I like it!

Sunday was my mom's birthday and Jason was home! We decided to have a cookout dinner at my house, complete with hot dogs and hamburgers, cake, ice cream and presents!

* Happy Birthday Mama! We love you! Hope you enjoyed your day! *

A day late, but better late with pics than not at all . . .

A bird working outside my window . . .

Quiet lunches with no TV . . .

White, puffy clouds against blue skies . . .

Today is a good day for pretending . . .

I think in honor of the awesome weather God has gifted us with today, I am pretending that it is already spring and that the warmth is here to stay. As a matter of fact, I have carried this image around in my mind all day . . .

Jason and I enjoying a nice, HOT, summer morning. I am so so so so so so (you get the point!) ready for this. I am afraid today is going to spoil me.

I came back from lunch today to find this on my desk-

Sweet card from my very first Valentine- my daddy. My day got a little brighter :)

Lastly,

Some things I am thankful for today . . .
~ sunshine
~ the patience of my husband
~ a dad who goes out of his way
~ the prayers of children
~ friendships that have grown together- from then to now

Happy Valentine's Day!

Thursday Thoughts

Happy Thursday! Not a whole lot going on our way this week . . we are glad! Jason and I have become addicted to a new TV show on Wednesday nights. Besides American Idol (which is soooo much better this year than in previous years), we have started watching Storage Wars. It is so good! We have decided that if there was a market for that kind of thing here, we would be great at it. Basically, the people bid on storage units that have been abandoned (AKA not paid for/repo ed) and they can't touch anything that's in the unit- they can only look from the outside. Sometimes these people make off with a ton of profit! Anyway, it's really good, but keeps us up later than normal on Wednesday nights. Totally worth it though.

I am really excited about a new, on-line book club I have joined recently. Some of you may have already heard about it and may have participated in it, but it is new to me! Join me and a ton of other ladies over at (in)courage as we begin One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are by Ann Voskamp. I have just finished Chapter 1, which will be the topic of the first post this Sunday, and it is amazing. I can't wait for this book. I visit her website alot too, and she is a great communicator. I hope you will consider participating in the Bloom book club, or at least read this book! I already feel God's hand at work in personal things going on in our lives now that He is using this book to minister to me through. Give it a try!

Finally, my February 1 memory verse I forgot to post on the 1st! Got right by me, even though I posted over at LPM :

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2
